After we got Dad home and settled in, I headed out to the Talcott-Mountain Science-Center, and enjoyed a wonderful night under the stars, even if a full Moon was hindering the deep sky views. As lovely as that was, I return home to the bittersweet news that my old friend Lance Horne has passed away. Ive known Lance since 1977, and we became friends in 1978, over a mixture of science fiction, model rockets and amateur film making. He was always such a character. Over the past two decades, we sort of drifted apart, as friends sometimes do, and would only touch base occasionally, so in that sense it is an even more bittersweet. But the memories are good ones, and will forever be etched into my memory as some of the best times in my life. God speed, Lance, ad astra, and make em laugh up there.
