After we were finished with the creek I rested in the car while Niki explored the ghost town of Elkmont in the Smoky Mountain National Park. She had a ball photographing the old buildings...something I dont really have any interest in doing, but have posted a few of her images here. So, for any of you who love to photograph EVERYTHING like Niki does, this is a great place to enjoy...the textures of nature and the textures of old buildings...along with a few critters in between :) For those of you who would like to know more about this ghost town, heres a link for you to enjoy: thegreatsmokies.net/elkmont-ghost-town-great-smoky-mountains/ After the serenity and peace of the forest, it was a bit of a shocker to drive through Gatlinburg, TN. Looks like a fun town to walk the streets and see the stores, but my gosh, the hordes of people and cars! Its a little overwhelming after being in the sanctuary of the forest.
