After what has seemed like an eternity, I am finally back!!!! I am back to being free to do as I please with my art, publicly. As some of you know, I have been taking part in the NEIS program over the last 12 months, in support of my business as a professional artist. Part of the agreement is that I keep my work tame and resist my urges to be my usual disgusting self. No nudity or profanity of any kind. *sad face* As of today, I am no longer confined to drawing rude and crude illustrations that remain private as to not violate the terms of being supported by a program that is government funded. It has been a busy twelve months, full of fun and stress in equal measure. I have learnt quite a lot in this time- mostly about myself as an artist. Being told I have to be pretty G-rated was a bit of a kick in the guts, but I am so glad I put my dick drawing enthusiast beliefs aside and decided to explore other avenues and source my inspiration elsewhere. This has led me on a wild artistic journey, fueled by pop culture and experimental techniques and I am quite happy with what I have achieved in the last year. I have gained so much confidence in my ability not only as an artist but as a business owner. I know that I can turn this little paint-filled dream of mine into a reality. This is where I thank you all for believing in me. I honestly could not have done any of this without your support, and for that I am forever grateful. I feel free right now. Not only because I can let my mind spew out all kinds of ideas without constraint- but because I don’t feel as driven by figures as I have been over this last year. I have set myself targets to meet in the coming months because I don’t want this venture to die in the arse… But my main focus now, is doing what I love, and oh boy do I love this.
