After work I took Gavin into video town to rent a new Xbox game. I took the hwy home and he says: Mom, do you know this way takes longer? Not really bud, no street lights, no traffic - I think its faster. No its slower to me - want to know why? Enlighten me, pal. Because, this is not the way home, this is different, we didnt come in this way, we shouldnt go home this way. Because your going a different way, my brain gets mad, now Im going to be too tired when I get home because my brain has to take pictures to memorize this way home because its not the way we came! And that means it takes longer! If we went home the same way we came I would play it backwards in my head and its even faster that way. To be honest Gavin, I dont know what to say.... Quiet spell. Youve spoke about taking pictures before... What is that like? Its like blinking my eyes, but I just freeze what I see and keep it forever. Do you take pictures of everything you do? No, because sometimes I already have that picture, I dont need more mom! Mhmm - good point. So.... I guess what Im asking is - we come to town a lot, why would you take pictures on the way in tonight? I didnt! I already have those pictures mom, I just said that!! Ok. So you can just look at them and know things are the same? No mom! Their just there and I can look at them anytime I want! So by me going home the hwy, this upsets you because its different pictures? No, because its different than how we came in and now its longer because it new pictures! --- Okay. Someone help. Is this about change or is this about pictures? Is this his way of telling he wasnt pleased I changed our driving route from what he excepted to happen? He wasnt upset - just annoyed. The picture thing - Im still trying to get a grasp on just what he means.
