After work today, I took advantage of my recreational benefits package and went ice skating. This was my first time ice skating. I helped to construct the rink in November, so its fitting I should enjoy the fruits of my labor. I skated around for 20 minutes, and held onto several upside-down, stacked buckets to keep my balance. I fell down only once, but it was a doozy. I fell on my butt and back, then hit my head against the hard, frozen ice. Ouch! I meant to get a helmet when I picked up my skates, but I forgot about this key piece of safety equipment. Thankfully I am unharmed. I think the moral of the story is that you can never be too safe.
