After working yesterday, I have come to certain - TopicsExpress

After working yesterday, I have come to certain conclusions: Forcing people to work on Thanksgiving pisses them off (well, not me, I was happy to work, but I dealt with more than a few employees who were less than jolly). Placing pallets full of merchandise, attractively priced, then expecting that people wont rip into them before the designated time (ie cant get it until 6 and cant purchase until 8) is just asking for trouble. Any parent could see this coming a mile away because many determined shoppers act just like kids when you tell them no you cant get into the cookie jar. Theyre going to try every means necessary to get into it without you knowing about it. Expecting your employees to help customers but only giving certain designated employees in the store the map that says where all the items are located is just nuts. Im sorry but its somewhere in that general area is not a response I like to give people. I know how Id want to be treated as a consumer. Tell me exactly where it is so I dont have to waste time trying to hunt it down. People have no problem standing in line from 12 noon until 8 pm to get a 70 TV for $900. Not telling customers about the wrist band ahead of time was just cruel. Hey, I know we said 8:00 is the earliest you can buy this item, but hey, were going to hand out wrist bands at 6:00 but were not going to tell anyone that unless they ask. The lack of rhyme or reason to the placement of all this merchandise was very annoying. Nothing had an order, so people were running around all over the store looking for things that could have been placed together. IE electronics. Some were in garden, others in grocery, and it was just a hot mess. God bless those people who were there to buy items other than those pre Black Friday things. I have never been so happy to tell someone yes I know where that is and Ill take you right there. You want some pickles? Heck, Ill skip to my lou all the way over to that aisle.
