After yesterdays glorious expression, today we find ourselves in temporarily arrested spring. This is not completely unexpected, the seasons act on their own accord at their own pace and after all were only along for the ride. It was sure nice while it lasted. I went to town to complete the writers class at WFHB and everyone I encountered had a spring to their step and a smile on their face, I know I did. It was a fruitful class, not so much in the way of mechanics, although there was some of that, mostly Richard made us think by sharing examples of good writing for the radio. Richard Fish has been involved in radio since the early seventies, and because of his interest hes managed to meet many radio luminaries. We had a great conversation about Fire Sign Theater, both of us are big fans, the difference being hes friends with the creators. So all in all it was a great experience and I got a lot out of it. I dont know if it will have any impact on my writing, but its always good to encounter new ideas and to be introduced to good work I had been unaware of. Back home, Becky and I enjoyed the weather and watched the sunset sitting on the porch listening to Garrison. The peepers were in full hallelujah chorus, and the moon was spectacular. Even though today is a bit of a set back, the forecast seems promising. Hurry up and wait is the cry of the season, and we can do that.
