Afternoon All! Had a late start today after pretty much not sleeping the last 48 hours. Never thought going to see my man Anton Troyn in CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF would change my life the way it has. But hey- the name of my production company is NEW REBELLION ENTERTAINMENT- and I always thought of my self as an Active Advocate for Equality- Maybe thats why I am a storyteller/filmmaker. To use rock and roll and monsters and comedy to shake things up and reveal the TRUTH behind the façade. I have always been the boy who shouts that the emperor isnt wearing any clothes. And I will always continue to do so. And I will ALWAYS stand up for my friends. LOYALTY is number one to me. BETRAYAL and ABANDONMENT the worst arrow one could sling at me. That is why I am so fired up that Orvington Michael Olsen fired John Lacycy for standing up to a homophobic heckler, and why I have zero respect for Emily E. Low for not standing with her fellow cast member Anton Troy and quitting in protest, but rather standing against John and Anton, implying that an actor in a gay role should not only expect gay slurs from audience members, but should shrug it off. I GUARANTEE THAT IF IT WERE AN AFRICAN AMERICAN ACTOR STANDING UP TO A HECKLER USING THE N WORD, JOHN WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN FIRED AND HIS ENTIRE CAST WOULD HAVE STOOD BY HIS SIDE IN UNITY. And rightly so. But as I have experienced first hand my entire life, when it comes to homophobia, there are always double standards. Gays are the final minority- the last to be allowed to love who we love, and stand up, sometimes not so gently, against those who attack us for doing so. NO MORE FOLKS. NO MORE. God bless John Lacy and Anton Troy, two straight men who had the courage to shed light on the pain of those who live in the darkness. And GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU who have taken to this cause, walked the talk, and have taken a little post I did on Facebook Sunday morning, and 48 hours later have turned it into a major national news story! YOU PUT US ON CBS NEWS LAST NIGHT- and we have only just begun. Next stop- Ellen? Larry King? People? Entertainment Weekly? Any and all help and suggestions are quite welcome. LOVE TO ALL!
