Afternoon Boogie Miters! As we hurtle towards the long summer holidays we here in Boogie Mites land remain as busy as ever. singing all our Summertime songs. I love the chat I have with the children before each song as we set the scene for what we are about to sing. I adore the excitement the kids have when they tell you about what they have done and about their family...although Im certain i hear some very tall stories, especially the boy who tried to convince me he has a pet Giraffe!!! Part of me would like to believe it true! One of the session I teach has a little boy who has some form, of yet to be diagnosed, learning difficulty and spends alot of time just running around the hall non stop (supervised by a teacher). however last week we had our first break through, sadly not music related, more to do with the fact that I had taken my shoes off when i arrived and he spent most of the lesson trying to get them back on my feet! We clearly have a Cinderella/Prince Charming dynamic. He also wanted to help me pull my suitcase at the end of the session. So from ignoring me totally for 6 weeks we have made some kind of connection which is amazing, lets see what this week brings! Todays nursery were having their school pictures taken so lots of children in their best outfits...so much so Emily couldnt possibly jump while we were singing as it might make me sweaty before my picture! Move over Naomi Campbell! Checkout the In the Summertime song its a fab action song with lots of memory work as we list whats in the bag each chorus, a great song to prepare for your beach trips or summer holiday!
