Afternoon Weather Watchers!!! Its an awful day out there with a current temperature of 16.6C (61.9F) making it the coldest day since 5th June.. So you wont be surprised to know that its going to be a disappointing week ahead! Tuesday will be a dull, damp and dreary day again with a chilly and, at times strong, East wind and though it should stop raining about 3ish and a chance of a glimmer of sunshine just before it gets dark! Max 16C (61F) Wednesday is looking like a dry day in all but Wales and SW England where it will rain from 4pm - the rest of the country will be dry with sunny spells, still annoyingly chilly though with East or Southeasterly! The sun will turn increasingly watery during the afternoon as cloud thickens from the west Max 18C 64F Thursday looks OK but only the South East will be dry and only after the after the overnight rain clears during the morning push hour! Winds will switch to SW and highs will be 20C (68F) The rest of the country will have sunny spells and showers which will clear about an hour before dark and even up north, the temperature will be the same! Friday will be a chilly, showery day with some sunny spells in between, but it will be breezy, especially gusty in the showers which will buzz through on stiff Southwesterlies and highs will only be 18C 64F or so... And this sets us up for yet another disappointing weekend with further sunshine and blustery showers on both days! Having access now to a Jet Stream predictor, there is a hint of the placement to drift northwards - being on the southern side of this makes me think the weather will settle for a while as we head into September and Im hopeful of some more dry, sunny, warm weather... And this is your forecast... For now :-)
