Again sharing private e-mail. As I recall this was in response of someone asking something about considering working for Ryan Homes, and possible moral or ethics dilemmas involved. Usually the need and desire for the paycheck will push aside any dilemmas. Not many major corps care anything about their employees personal values, so long as theyre profitable. Anyway, thought this might be interesting to share.... The ties you may see are city or developer planning possibly. Chances are high that to succeed with Ryan Homes at sales, a person may need to lie to cover up their mortgage or customer service issues, promise things RH has no actual intentions on providing, but how bad that might be depends on others incompetence or greed level. So its not a set standard of operation for all sales people, though they do psych profiles on applicants to try to verify their employees are willing to do whatever to make a sale. Some of them are still good honest people that slip by and do well enough. Even known some of them to warn their customers to avoid Ryan Homes scamming aspects for things like fake upgrades. > > The worst issue I see is that selling for RH can be all consuming, leaving you almost no personal life. Theyve been known to play favorites and give poor selling areas over hot selling markets that destroy your income. Being completely honest with a customer can sometimes cost a person their job if they get caught. These are just some possible down sides. If you dont mind having no life outside of selling for RH, this could work out fine as a short term job IMO, and you may make a lot of money for a while. Sales people doing well typically break into the low six figure incomes. > > Even if the NVR board has the ethics of a satanic cult, I would not discourage someone wanting to work in sales if they go in aware of who they are working for, and dont get too caught up in their culture. Management would only be okay if a person has no real personal ethics IMO, and sociopathic tendencies are pretty much required. I hope this covers the questions and helps somehow. No idea really. Like I said, not normal issues for what I deal with, and not what my site was created for. > > Good luck, > > Ron Re: From Thanks. I appreciate the thoughtfulness of your reply, and that you took the time at all. Peace.
