Again the DOE is showing their true colors. This is another instance of just how State-led Common Core really is. When you have the DOE measuring how effective an IEP is and holding back funding based on their criteria, our SPED kids are NOT being given an appropriate IEP or appropriate education based on their developmental levels. Its all about if the kids is meeting the standards at grade level. Its insulting to all sped kids. This is exactly the same as what is happening with the NCLB waivers. At the end of the day, if the DOE keeps on insisting on being the controller in chief in regards to education, they in fact have a stern hand in local education. The IEP was written FOR THE CHILD!!! ITS AN INDIVIDUAL EDUCATIONAL PLAN!!!! Not for the federal government to use as a check and balance! Its not for them to use to further punish schools and kids. By Justice For Justin....
