Agatha Christie in her Autobiography had written, that not until you travel alone do you realize how much the outside world will befriend and help you – or something of the sort, not sure of the exact words, now - I had reproduced this in my book, `Alone … In the Valley of the Gods’. It was true then. I found it to be equally true now, when I traversed the length and breadth of Uttarakhand alone, including trekking to high altitudes, slithering deep into caves, being on the road alone with a strange driver, even into the night, as was driving long stretches, in parts. Yes, had some run-ins – the usual – with people at times, and at times Nature threatened … but, was generally lucky with the weather and people … met some fantastic people, came back with new friends, super memories, and fresh ideas … and came back unscathed … … till I returned – have not returned to good news about some close people, but then … even that has to be accepted! That’s life! And yes, it is worth it, trusting the Universe … at least in my view, in my experience – it is not that your trust will not be betrayed by some, but one need not gauge by the betrayals … and when your trust is fulfilled and justified, well – those can be one’s milestones through Life ...
