Agawam Couple Catches Alleged Thief on Camera AGAWAM, Mass. (WGGB) — An Agawam couple hopes that their bad experience will be a lesson for others. They’ve released surveillance footage of a thief caught in action. Tina and Tony Castro recently bought a tablet online for their daughter’s birthday. UPS said it was shipped, but they never received it. Something was wrong. The Castro’s have had items stolen from their doorstep before. That’s when they decided to install a video surveillance system that caught this footage. A man with four children comes to their front door on Halloween. “They came to the front door and saw nobody was here, and noticed a package that UPS had dropped off,” said Tony. They stay for a bit and then eventually leave, but not before punching over a Halloween decoration. About two minutes later, the man comes back. Sneaking across the yard, he grabs the package from the front door, hides it under his cape, and leaves. “It’s frustrating. Yes, we can get another tablet, it’s not a huge deal. It’s just the principle of it. You’re trick or treating with kids and what kind of example do you set by doing that?” UPS advises victims of these crimes to call the company and file a claim. Contacting the provider of the product has also been successful, but, that’s not what Tony wants. “I’d like to see the individual get caught for it. I don’t think it sets a good example for kids. It’s not really the tablet that I care about. I…I just think it’s a really bad example.” Police are currently investigating the latest theft.
