Agency: United States Marshals Service (USMS) Location: Arlington, Virginia 22202 Duration: Long Term regards, Glenn, MCSE, MCSA, Security+, Network+, AutoCAD Certified (202) 810.4639 For your IT solution, go to our website at: wix/R87G86/STAR Telecommunications Specialist Requirement: · This position requires a minimum of five (5) years’ experience. · Provides maintenance of the switching equipment. · Performs more complex activities for routine maintenance on switch. · Reads and interprets circuit diagrams and electrical schematics. · Supports complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities associated with one or more technical areas within the telecom function such as, but not limited to, network design, engineering, implementation, or operations/user support. Task: · Assist with the planning, design and implementation of a variety of telecommunications systems and supporting infrastructure, including phone switches, premise wiring (voice and data), fiber optics, wire management systems and telecommunications service offerings. · Assist ITD Telecom Specialists with the handling of telecommunications service incidents via the USMS Help Desk System via Remedy tickets. Coordinate with users and telecommunications carriers for scheduling repairs, new services, adds, moves, changes and disconnect orders. · Schedule conference calls for USMS staffers and track calls for USMS billing records reconciliation. · Provide support of USMS Government Emergency Telecommunications System (GETS) and Wireless Priority Services (WPS) program which include assistance in processing new and disconnect requests, managing distribution of GETS cards, communications to GETS and WPS users on quarterly testing reminders and inventory database maintenance. · Review and analyze telecommunications equipment and services for providing recommendations to USMS on development of efficiencies and cost effectiveness of its telecommunications services environment. · Assist Telecom Specialists in evaluating and providing secure and/or emergency telecommunications services in support of agency missions. Engage in planning and analysis to provide telecommunication systems that support emergency usage, failover, redundancy and survivability scenarios
