Agricultural produce trader robbed off K7 million Nsanje, September 24: Security lapses continue to take its toll as robbers on Monday night stole cash amounting to over K7 million from an agricultural produce trader in Nsanje district. The trader identified as Enock Kanyimbiri was robbed off his money at his warehouse in the area of Chief Tengani in the district. Nsanje Police Officer In-charge Senior Assistant Commissioner Sekani Tembo confirmed the development saying the robbers broke into Kanyimbiri’s warehouse and went away with the cash in question from his warehouse where he was sleeping. According to reliable sources close to the scene, the money stolen is the chunk which the trader (Kanyimbiri) had just received from his driver which he wanted to use to buy agricultural produce from Tengani farmers. However Senior Assistant Commissioner Tembo said nothing has been recovered at the moment as far as the incident is concerned as investigations are still underway. This has happened a few days after robbers stole K6 million from Fatima Opportunity International Bank of Malawi (OIBM) kiosk in the district.
