Agriculture Commodity Exchange for Africa (ACE) is seeking to expand its foot print Malawi, especially in rural areas. ACE is a business platform through which small holder farmers are linked with buyers, besides exploring other market opportunities. Officials of the group, which is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), have disclosed that trade facilitation has been increased on the ACE platform. The development has forced the group to consider engaging brokers, who will undergo a five day training, and would earn a commission for their services. ACE was set up in 2006 through the National smallholder by providing price information, facilitating trade and stocking commodities in warehouses for the farmers awaiting buyers. The firm will also take on board rural agents for its cluster markets in Mzimba, Zomba, Dedza, Lilongwe and other areas.
