Agriculture Minister Inia Seruiratu will represent Fiji at the 51st Ministerial Meeting of Asia Pacific Coconut Community (APCC) at Kochi, Kerala in India next week. The meeting will allow exchange of ideas on new technologies, processes, products, market trends and prospects, related to the coconut industry and the new ideas will be a good opportunity to help improve Fiji’s Agriculture sector Seruiratu says the meeting will have a lot of benefit for farmers through capacity building and improvement on knowledge and technology. This will positively have an impact on their livelihoods, increase productivity and reduce the cost of production which is some contributing factors to the drop in the production of copra in Fiji This will also be an opportune time to follow up to the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Fiji as India is willing to assist Fiji in Agriculture and small holder diary development. - See more at: fbc.fj/fiji/26371/fiji-to-participate-at-asia-pacific-coconut-community-meet-in-india#sthash.JfGisul7.dpuf
