Ah - the announcement has been made! I can break cover :-) For the last year weve been working with a group called Genomics England on the 100k genomes project thats been all over the news recently. Twice as hard for us at Oxford: were the first (and still the only) lab to offer next generation sequencing as a standard, clinically approved NHS test for cancer patients so we were the prototype for the whole program. Sadly this didnt guarantee us Genomics Medicine Centre status automatically so we had to apply with all the other centres having given away our secret sauce!! My role was to lead the development of the national cancer data model, sample data management and consent management. Like I said - hard work!! Happy Christmas everyone. More guitar next year - I promise!!!
