|| Ah, I remember that time when my mate, Nathan (who RPs Percy), and I joined a group on Facebook that revolved around demigod roleplay... and he and I started RPing with one another and a bunch of lads in the group thought he and I were the same person because we both engaged in literate RP. That was fun. We ended up getting banned, despite the fact that we hadnt done anything wrong in the first place. There are several types of RP (roleplay). ♙ Theres script, which is the simplest. Usually looks like: *he walked into the room and waved to everyone* Hey!! . . . . . ♖ Theres lit, which looks more like: Heart racing, he entered the room and glanced around at the crowd. He could feel the anxiety rising inside him - crowds were not his forte. Swallowing hard, he accidentally made eye contact with a few of the partiers. To attempt to diminish his awkwardness, he waved. Hey! Oh God, his voice cracked and trembled and he wondered if anyone had noticed. Could they also hear how painful his heartbeat was beating against his ribs? Because it thundered in his ears like a roaring river. With a sigh, he finally found a familiar face, a girl about his age with long blonde hair and bright, topaz eyes. Im so glad youre here, he said to her loudly, over the din of the rock music. . . . . . . . ♕ Then theres para-lit (paragraph RP), also known as advanced lit, which is literate RP but with two or more paragraphs. It can sometimes look like this: Heart racing, Percy entered the room and glanced around at the crowd. And he knew, immediately, that this had been a terrible idea. The anxiety rose inside him, threatening to suffocate him; crowds, especially cramped, claustrophobic crowds like this, were /not/ his forte. Swallowing hard, feeling his mouth turn to cotton, he accidentally made eye contact with a few of the partiers. To diminish his awkwardness, he gave a small wave. Hey! Oh Gods... his voice had cracked and trembled and he wondered if anyone had noticed. Could they also hear how painful his heartbeat was beating against his ribs? Because it thundered in his ears like a roaring river. With a rueful sigh, Percy scanned the crowd and his eyes landed upon a familiar face - a girl about his age with platinum blonde hair and a startlingly intense gaze, which broke into a aura of softness when she caught him looking at her. She waved him over and Percy felt his palms go sweaty. Im so glad youre here, he forced out over the din of the rap music. So, uh... whats up? . . . . . And of course, you can do each style in different POVs. I tend to switch between first and third person, depending on the RP itself. You can also do extended script, which is multiple sentences confined between two punctuation marks - the most common being the asterisk ****. This can get rather sloppy and if it gets to be too much, its often best to switch over to literate RP. I only stick to extended script if everyone else is still using script.
