Ah gee, I went into Walmart tonight for a nonfood item and because I was tired and didnt feel like going to another store, I decided to go shopping for a few groceries. Its been a while since I have really much shopped for food there, since Ive been eating cleaner. I wandered around the aisles, and found precious few things I could feed my family😩. I know I may sound like a snob to some of you, its not that I thought I was too good for the place... But practically all I could find was row after row of packaged and processed foods that quite frankly, as I was adding it up in my head were really not much cheaper than what I normally buy real whole food for. Not kidding. I know there are some cheap things like Ramen noodles, but those boxes and packages and cans of disgusting things they like to call beverages, where half of the ingredients you can barely pronounce let alone understand what they are - MOST of that junk was not cheap. Then, the shoppers walking around look like invasion of the bodysnatchers. Most of them looked so sickly, as they shufflled along, many on motorized carts (because they were overweight? Not sure ) and with walkers. I almost cant blame them because thats all they know. To eat this junk they call food. The Big box food manufacturers – you know who I mean – deliberately make this stuff to be craved more and more. That way they make more and more money because you keep buying it. And we as a society are getting sicker and sicker. Diabetes, heart disease, cancer, autoimmune disorders out-of-control. Im not sure we will need Homeland security to protect us from outside terrorists. Maybe dont worry so much about border control and who is flooding in and how we will take care of all this. We are probably just going to collapse ourselves because most of the country will be too sick to care, fight or be dead! Im half kidding, but seriously, the statistics are saying that the children living in America right now will be the first generation that does not predominately outlive their parents if we do not turn things around nutritionally. Its a ticking time bomb. Heartbreaking stuff this trip to Walmart. I should have just bit the bullet and traveled the little bit further over to Weghmans and got me some real food in the organic section. 😣
