Ah, nothing like a smiling, giggling baby. Who doesnt love the wee - TopicsExpress

Ah, nothing like a smiling, giggling baby. Who doesnt love the wee ones with their ever-present grins, their sunny dispositions, and their cheerful, jolly natures? But wait a minute. Not all babies follow this pattern. We have a Honey Bear (then 2) and she is decidedly NOT any of the above. She is grit and steel. She eats nails for breakfast. She rarely smiles; hearing her laugh is as rare as a unicorn. Jolliness is not part of her make-up. She is intense and determined. She entered the world this way. Interrupt her while shes meticulously stacking blocks? Youll get a stern rebuke. Ask her to smile for a photo? Youve got to be kidding. Sneak-up and tickle her? Shell freak on you. Pick her up without warning? Shell never speak to you again. Im only half-kidding. Her oldest brother was like this -- somewhat -- as a youngster. From the stories Mamas mother tells, my wife (as a baby) was the same as Honey Bear. So, Honey Bear comes by it honestly. I think friends and family are sometimes disappointed by her personality. People feel little ones should be skipping and jumping and engaging all the time (and HB does these things, sometimes, but its unusual). But as its okay to be a happy-go-lucky child, its also okay to be Honey Bear (who is often more Honey BADGER than Honey BEAR). I love her resolve. I adore the fire in her belly. I love the intensity in her stare. Theres nothing wrong with Honey Bear and wee ones like her. Theyre magnificent and perfect.
