Ah, the ocean report has come out. Big, Big waves on the north shore in the 20-30 range, beaches have been closed up there for today. Best conditions on the south side at Poipu and Salt Pond but I bet boogie boarding at Brennekes or Kealia would be fun. Still a nice day to get in a round of golf too! Dont forget, Kauai Bound will be closed on Thursday so if you really want to take advantage of the holiday you can rent your gear for 3 days today and it would not be due until Friday by closing time! ! If you come in on Wednesday and get gear for the day you have it until Friday! Here is the ocean report: Big change from yesterday with Northwest swell in the 20-30 range plus Northerly winds and rain. Dangerous on North & West shores, even around the ocean. Lifeguards have closed North & West shores for swimming. Much calmer on South & East facing shores. Always use caution - esp. when unfamiliar & help is a long way away. Recommended lifeguarded beaches: Kealia, Lydgate, Poipu, Salt Pond. Outlook to Sun Dec 28: the current NW swell will shift more North and slowly decline after today. More NW swell Fri.
