Ahead of Marriage, Soldier Shoots Self to Death in Jammu and Kashmir =>An army soldier yesterday shot himself to death with his service rifle in Akhnoor area on city outskirts of this.winter capital, police here said. “Narinder Surbi Basant of 1842 Light Regiment yesterday morning shot himself.inside his barrack in his unit in Akhnoor area,” police said. Police said that he fired one shot on his forehead and died on the spot. “The jawan belonged to Maharashtra and was reportedly going on leave from tomorrow as he had to get married on May 10,” police added. “We have handed over the body to the Army authorities after legal formalities and registered a case under relevant sections and started the investigations,” police added.
