Ahh, it is so good to live in a Democracy where fundraising trips are paid for by one and all. Let me get this right. The President visited Seattle for just under 17 hours. NO and I stress NO Government business was conducted, strictly fund raising to help Democrats win back the House in 2014. Total amount raised is estimated at 1.6 million dollars. Not a penny of that will remain in Washington State. Every nickle goes directly to the DNC. So who pays for all the local expenses incurred for added security and escort service for the Presidential Motorcades? I have the answer we the tax payers of the state. Now the President attended two fundraisers that were by invitation only. The first one only cost $16,000 per person. A little more personal encounter out on Mercer Island in the town of Medina required donations of $50,000 plus. Less than 100 people attend the two events. DNC is required to pay for the use of Air force One but not the military cargo plane that moves the Presidents limo. The cost of the Secret Service Detail fall to the city of Seattle. OT for all the local and state police officers involved is handed to the local and State governments. Estimate for just the Secret Service detail is over $220,000 dollars. No response from the Secret Service if that figure includes the cost of local call girls to entertain the group on the cold evenings here in Seattle. Citing privacy concerns the DNC refused to release any cost data that they will cover for this first leg of the fundraising tour. So the Democratic Party can hand off a big chunk of the cost to all tax payers without having to account for the cost that the DNC incurred. Sniff, Sniff why do I smell a dirty turd sandwich in the room? Why does all the money leave WA and go directly to the DNC? Because the strategy is to fund campaigns and TV ads in areas where they might defeat a incumbent republican candidate. Eastern WA is not considered very fertile ground. According to Gov. Jay Inslee we are very fortunate to have a visit from the President as it places Seattle in the spotlight and might help WA State win the Boeing &&X program. Guess Obama intends to take over Boeing in the near future. So I certainly hope that each of you fellow taxpayers enjoy funding an effort to buy control of the entire Congressional body.
