Ahhh....finally did it...these were the words which came out as soon as I crossed the finished line n completed my first n the longest distance 100kms...yes 100kms is indeed a distance wen u r covering it on feet... always had a thought of doing a crazy ultra distance n did taste it during the 12hr run in Mumbai organised by the shivaji park grp...n thought of going an extra mile n try for a magical figure of 100kms.Thanks to the support of Breeze & Sanjay did two 50+ kms runs which gave me a confidence about doing 100 kms. But one day before I was quite nervous abt how to actually execute the race...The weather was good in the mrng at the venue...n I started with a bang (on a faster pace) but after completing 10kms in 1 hr 6 mins realised that im going too fast n reduced my pace drastically n ran along with Meenal n finished the first loop of 25 kms in 2hr 56 mins...had some breakfast n started my 2nd loop n completed it along with Breeze n Shibani in close to 6 hrs n 20 mins...After having a lunch break I began my 3rd loop,since the weather was very hot at that time thought of doing a run walk of next 25 kms but thanks to Indira Ghosh completed the entire loop with minimal walk breaks n completed 76 kms in close to 11 hrs n 30 mins..by that time I was bit tired n hungry again I quickly had snacks n relaxed myself for sometime n then began my journey for the last 24 kms...However just after 200 mtrs on the course.....I was completely drained out mentally n unable to run.. thought od quitting but then decided to walk the entire balance distance n never stop...met Uttam Rathod n walked with him till he finished his 75kms race...I had still 12 kms to be completed...n by now I was tired n very sleepy...had coffee from the runners high team...n thanks to my new buddy Karthik I began to get my feet rolling on a tough course....we walked walked n walked...n time came I was about to finish n there I go ran about 300 mtrs to the finish line in little over 18 hrs.... the route was tough however i was tougher to handle it...what a big sigh of relief...my eyes were filled with tears as soon as I saw the finisher medal...n moreover also got the finisher tshirt...Wat else u want. The event was wonderfully organised...want to thank Dilpreet from RFL team for giving me the finisher medal n also arranging a drop till the hotel...which was much needed...I would like to thank to all the coaches n all the people who always support n motivate me to do better...special thanks to Sunil & Sangeeta for constantly guiding me n motivating me en route to just keep going... Kishore who helped me in getting my feet relaxed..n constantly kept on saying I know u will complete the race just keep going, dont worry abt the time... Jagadeesha sir for always encouraging me..really happy to achieve this feat...had a wonderful time with the shivaji park grp...Thanks alot Uttam bhai for arranging the hotel stay... The list is very long to thank all the people who motivated me n also met alot of fb friends on the course..Raj it was nice meeting u during the run...want to dedicate this run to my dear friend Bhushan a belated happy birthday & to a new person in this world Deepesh sons(born just 13 days back)...may u live a long life..all the best kid....hats off to all the ultra runners they are truly amazing...Apologies to my runner friends who were expecting a 14 to 15 hrs finish time...sorry to let u down..Congratulations to all the winners n to all who completed the race..Thanks to Enerzel for their support n sponsoring my flight tickets
