Ahhhh it was great to get my run in on Christmas Day . . .well to be fair it was never going to be an issue was it really, especially when I had a celebration to errrr celebrate. Up early in the morn for Christmassy stuff but still found myself rush rush rushing to get myself up to Newcastle Town Moor and return to the place where parkrun all started for me way back in January 2011 - today was my 200th parkrun finally my double centurion moment had arrived on today of all days, my own special Christmas present to myself. Got to the start line with only 5 minutes to spare and dressed accoringly for such a special occasion in tux. A mention through the megaphone from run director and off I went officially parkrunning for the 200th time. Cold Toon temperatures warmth of decent Geordie folk what more could I ask? Well a pb would be nice but no way was I ever going to get near 19:23 which I have done before at this parkrun venue and had to be satisfied with 22:19 and 83rd from a remarkable 268 turnout. Great to be scanned by Claire and well done to her and the rest of the dependable parkrun volunteers. Fabulous to meet up with some familiar Newcastle parkrun faces and proud to hit my bicentennial parkrun next up Delamere parkrun on Saturday then New Years Day double header down at the Boro as I focus on the next parkrun milestone of 250.
