Ahhhhh! Old Bangalore!! A lovely afternoon spent with Christine and Suleiman Jamal at their lovely gloriously re-vamped bungalow at Whitefield.A semi-balmy Sunday afternoon with the cool breeze threatening to leave our city, and heralding the close at hand summer months ahead, a beautiful bungalow with a gorgeous garden and a gazebo ( resounding to the sounds of a terrific jazz band), created a perfect ambiance for a lovely brunch and cocktail afternoon. I met artistes, singers, friends from the theatre fraternity and a couple of old neighbours who had a bungalow adjoining ours on Convent Road, where I lived with my parents so many moons ago. Since the party was brimming with talent... with the Jamals (but of curse) leading the way, the party was not only a riot of colour, food and drink.. but a riot in terms of entertainment and pure unbridled fun too! Carlton, Biren and the band belted out some great songs and the gazebo was always packed with swirling skirts and patent leather shoes(the party theme was English)...what a wonderful afternoon...and thank you Christine and Suleiman for a wonderful afternoon and for reminding us what Old Bangalore may have felt like!
