Aiden finished chemo on Sunday, and had two doses of radiation on - TopicsExpress

Aiden finished chemo on Sunday, and had two doses of radiation on Monday since the Department was closed on Tuesday (and we need three weeks with no treatment to start the trial in NY). On Tuesday he was in a lot of pain. He screamed and cried every time anyone touched his stomach and his stomach felt hard (this was the symptom that led to his initial diagnosis). This was very scary for all of us. We spent the evening in the ER, but thankfully it was just constipation. They did an xray of his chest and pelvis that appeared unremarkable. That helped to put our minds at ease. He has feeling a little better everyday since finishing the chemo. He needed to get both platelets and red blood on Friday as his counts are on their way down. He is likely to need more next week. Thank you to Jeremiah Young (we love to see your posted pictures) and everyone who donates blood. Our son would not be able to survive these treatments without your priceless gifts! Aiden will get scans on Thursday and Friday, and will get a bone marrow biopsy next Monday. Please pray that the scans will show No Evidence of Disease. We need to see some improvement on the scans to be eligible for the trial in NY. Please also say a prayer for our friends Violet, Corbin, and Prestun as they also have scans this week. Thank you to Becky Malott, Devon and Stu Whittaker, MJ and Rick Dickinson, and Rise Schneider for meals this week. Not having to plan for, shop for, and prepare meals takes a huge burden off of us, especially on days where I am working and Brian and Aiden are spending all day at the hospital (which has been most days these last few months). We are so very greatful!!
