Air 21 Parts Ways With Import Herve Lamizana,Taps Wesley Witherspoon As ReplacementAir 21 will be tapping a new reinforcement for theongoing PLDT Home TVolution Commissioner’s Cup after the Express and their import Herve Lamizana mutually agreedto part ways on Wednesday.Air 21 coach Franz Pumaren confirmed the news to InterAksyon, indicating that the Express are in need of an import that can carry the load offensively.“That’s the type of import that we need,” Pumarensaid.“We really need a take-charge guy whom the locals can rely on every time we need a point.”Pumaren said that Wesley Witherspoon, a 6-foot-9 former standout for the Memphis Tigers, will take over the spot vacated by Lamizana.Witherspoon came highly-recommended by former Toronto Raptors scout Jim Kelly, who once worked in the PBA asa trainer for the Presto franchise.Lamizana, meanwhile, will be on his way to play in PuertoRico.Sheryl Reyes, who represents Lamizana, said the agreement to part ways with Air 21 was mutual.“He’s not fit to the system of CoachFranz because they want a big-time scorer. Herve is known more as a defensive player,” Reyes said.Reyes added that the player is thankful for the opportunity given by the Express and hopes that the team does well in the ongoing conference.
