Air Tahiti Nui Increases Direct Flights to Papeete Air Tahiti Nui has announced it will increase its Tahiti flights to three weekly services as part of a global overhaul to give Australian travellers better access to the sought-after destination. From December, the airline will add a Tuesday service to its existing Thursday and Sunday flights from Auckland to Papeete linking up with direct codeshare connections from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Additional flights have previously been added during peak season but Air Tahiti Nui General Manager New Zealand Australia Mark Hutchinson said this increase in frequency provided Australians with fantastic year-round options to Tahiti. “We’ve experienced year on year growth in passengers travelling to Tahiti, which has enabled us to launch this additional service with confidence. We’ll soon be flying to Tahiti every other day offering our guests more choice and flexibility when it comes to planning their holiday,” Mr Hutchinson said. “With this extra capacity on our newly configured wide body aircraft, we think Tahiti will become increasingly attractive to the groups and incentive market.” On sale now, the third weekly service from Auckland to Papeete starts on December 10. The airline is also enhancing its fleet of Airbus A340-300 aircraft with a complete cabin reconfiguration including more comfortable seats and a new inflight entertainment system. Air Tahiti Nui, the international airline of French Polynesia, offers regular one-stop flights from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane to Papeete via Auckland. etravelblackboard/article/145200/air-tahiti-nui-increases-direct-flights-to-papeete
