Air Wing Locates Missing Alzheimer’s Man Saturday, January 17, 2015 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Carver Police sent out a BOLO, or “Be On the Lookout” for a 77-year-old man with Alzheimer’s that was driving and was not known where he was. Just before 11:00 p.m., Troop D Headquarters advised that a 77-year-old man with Alzheimer’s had called from his vehicle, was in a wooded area and was confused. The man’s cell phone was tracked to an area of Barker Road in Wareham. State Police Sergeant Rota and Trooper Boulos deployed with Air 5 on a mission to attempt to locate the lost man. Troopers from Troop D as well as local police were deployed to the area. Around 12:30 a.m., Air 5 located the vehicle and directed troopers to the scene. Upon arrival, troopers found the man breathing, but unresponsive. Troopers immediately loaded the man into a cruiser and expedited out of the wooded area to meet up with a Wareham ambulance that was on the way. Wareham Fire Department met up with the troopers and successfully loaded the man into the ambulance and was taken to a area hospital.
