Air pollution by traffic is still a serious health problem in the Netherlands. Friends of the Earth Netherlands is addressing this problem in a new campaign: Rochelroutes. This dutch word translates into Coughing Corridors. In this project we asked a group of our volunteers to measure the amount of ultrafine particulates in the air, while cycling to their work, home or collecting their kids. Using a nanotracer, GPS and video, we made an invisible problem visible. What air do you breathe when joining the traffic in busy streets? See for yourself.
