Airhart M. Fry (1860 – 1939) Fry came to Piqua in 1890 as an independent carpenter and contractor. During his almost five decades in Piqua, Fry literally changed the physical appearance of the city. He was responsible for the construction of: the Brown, Benkert and Orr-Flesh buildings on Main Street; Piqua National Bank, the Ball Memorial Hospital, Mays Opera House, Piqua Business Mens Club Building, the YMCA, St. Boniface Parochial School, North Street School, the Lutheran Church; factories for the Piqua Hosiery and Atlas Underwear and Union Underwear Companies, the French Oil Machine Company, Piqua Milling Company, and M. P. Orr Linseed Oil; as well as the residences of W. P. Orr, L. M. Flesh, John H. Young, John Vallery, J. L. Boyer, John P. Spiker, and Allen Rundle.
