The Civil Aviation Law was endorsed by Parliament in October 2012 and approved by H.E. President Hamid Karzai in December 2012, and following the presidential confirmation, it was published in the official gazette of the Ministry of Justice in January 2013. The ACAA is now functioning independently under its approved structure. Job Description ~~Summary: The Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority seeks a qualified Afghan candidate for the position of Manager of Airports engineering to take lead in organizing and managing the programs and projects of Airports engineering in ACAA. The Airports engineer is responsible for the overall management of Airport engineering including Design and construction of new runways, taxiways, airfield and terminals in various locations all over Afghanistan, preparing the BOQs, Development and maintenance of the existing runways and taxi-ways, inspection of the projects regarding the airports, testing the accuracy of the various job implementations. Major Duties and Responsibilities: 1. The Airports engineer is responsible for getting the design, implementation and maintenance of the airports straightened out, help design engineers, social surveyors, technical surveyors, site engineers and contractors do their jobs punctually and right on time, report the instantaneous progressions, instantaneous problems to the higher authorities and seek the proper management of the same in any possible way. 2. The Manager of airports engineering is responsible to prepare a very comprehensive catalog for airports projects every month so that the higher authorities are kept updated in a timely manner. 3. The manager of airports engineering is responsible for projecting a positive image on behalf of the respective department. 4. The manager of airports engineering is responsible for establishing a computer data base in order to insure the systematic progression of the airports projects. 5. The manager of airports engineering is responsible for following all policies and procedures of the Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority. 6. The manager of airports engineering is responsible for submitting all reports required by the ministry in a timely manner. 7. Preparation and submission of weekly, monthly, quarterly activities plan and report to direct supervisor or other senior staff in timely manner. 8. Performance of other task or duty as required. Job Requirements ~~Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s or Master degree in Civil Engineering (Air Transportation), Road engineering or Construction management. 2. Leader ship skills 3. Good interpersonal and communication skills 4. Good written and verbal Communication skills (Pashto, Dari and English) 5.
