Ajimobi eulogises retiring Oyo CJ The retiring Chief Judge of Oyo State, Badejoko Adeniji, has been described as a very respectful, diligent and hardworking counsel by the governor of the state, Abiola Ajimobi. Ajimobi spoke at the send forth ceremony in honour of Adeniji, which was held at the State High Court, M.K.O. Abiola Way (former Ring Road), Ibadan. Ibadan-born Adeniji left the Oyo State Ministry of Justice in 1991 to join the Judiciary and was made the Registrar and later became a Judge in 1997. She became the Acting Chief Judge of the state in 2008 and was eventually appointed Chief Judge in 2009, the position from which she retired on Friday after five years on the seat. According to the governor, “Adeniji, the first ever woman substantive Chief Judge in Oyo State, is very sensitive in handling cases. “It is in her record that we see someone like the late F.R.A. Williams, who can face all legal odds without bias or intimidation”. Of particular interest to the governor, as noted by him, was Adeniji’s efforts at de-congesting the prisons in the state, effort commended by him, saying, “she has impressed me in many areas of judicial reforms in this state.
