I thank Dr. Eldamaty to prevent this disaster from occurring Bokhmim and maintain the site, and the Egyptian effort, but also that there should be a pause in order not to repeat such an incident in another site By Zahi Hawass today ... أخميم تشكر وزير الآثار وافقت اللجنة الدائمة للآثار المصرية، فى اجتماعها الأسبوع الماضى، على منح تصريح لاثنين من الأجانب لكى يعملا فى آثار أخميم، وكاد الموضوع أن يمثل كارثة للآثار المصرية لولا تدخل الدكتور ممدوح الدماطى، وزير الآثار. أما القصة فتعود إلى أن هذين الدارسين تحوم حولهما العديد من الشبهات، وحاولا من قبل رشوة أعضاء اللجنة الدائمة للآثار المصرية، وطردهما من قبل الدكتور محمد إسماعيل من مكتبه.. وكانا يعملان فى منطقة الشيخ حمد، ولم يسجلا الآثار التى تم كشفها. ولا نعرف السبب فى أن عيون هؤلاء ومن هم على شاكلتهما مفتوحة للعمل فى أهم مناطق مصر الأثرية، وهى منطقة أخميم الأثرية، والتى اشتق اسمها من اسم الإله «مين»، إله التناسل عند الفراعنة، وقد زارها المؤرخون والرحالة العرب الأوائل، وقالوا إن معبد أخميم أكبر من الكرنك، وإن زيارتهم للمعبد استمرت من الصباح حتى المساء!! أما المنطقة الأثرية فقد تحولت إلى جبانة ضخمة للمسلمين.. وبالمصادفة كُشف عن تمثال رائع للأميرة «مريت آمون»، ابنة وزوجة الملك «رمسيس الثانى».. ومن جمال التمثال يسميه أهل أخميم العروسة، وقد عمل معى الدكتور منصور بريك فى الكشف عن تمثال ضخم للملك «رمسيس الثانى»، ولا أنسى عندما أرسل لى مدير آثار أخميم خبر العثور على رأس تمثال ضخم للملك رمسيس الثانى داخل مقبرة حديثة، وذهبت إلى أخميم ودخلت إلى المقبرة لأجد أجمل رأس تمثال لرمسيس الثانى، لو كان مكتملا لوصل ارتفاعه لأكثر من خمسة أمتار.. وجاءت فكرة ضرورة نقل الجبانة الخاصة بالمسلمين فى أخميم إلى مكان آخر لتحقيق هدفين: الأول هو عدم التضييق على أهل أخميم فى دفن موتاهم وتوسعة مقابرهم، والثانى هو الحفاظ على آثار واحدة من أهم المدن الأثرية فى مصر قبل أن تندثر، وبالفعل بدأت عملية النقل، وذلك على نفقة المجلس الأعلى للآثار، وقمنا بدفع ما يقرب من 200 مليون جنيه، وتم تخصيص وبناء جبانة جديدة، واتفق على إيقاف الدفن بالجبانة القديمة، ونقل كل ما بها إلى المكان الجديد. وبالطبع أصبحت المنطقة الأثرية الآن بأخميم مطمعاً لكل الأجانب، فهى منطقة بكر غنية بالكنوز الأثرية! ويبدو أن من نتحدث عنهما هنا استطاعا أن يجمعا أموالاً ضخمة للعمل فى هذا المكان، حتى قبل الحصول على موافقة «الآثار»، والتى سبق أن رفضت طلبهما أكثر من مرة، لكن ما حدث فى الاجتماع الماضى أمر يحتاج إلى وقفة وتفسير، كيف يرفض معظم أعضاء اللجنة طلبهما فيقوم الدكتور محمد صالح، مدير المتحف المصرى السابق، الذى لايزال عضواً باللجنة الدائمة، مغاضباً ومهدداً بالانسحاب من الاجتماع، بل والخروج من القاعة دفاعاً عن طلب الأجنبيين، وفى مشهد مسرحى ركيك يجرى وراءه بعض أعضاء اللجنة لإعادته مرة أخرى إلى القاعة، وتتم ترضيته بالموافقة على عمل هذين الأجنبيين بالموقع الذى يخص المصريين، على الرغم من أن عملهما فيه إهدار للمال العام، مال أنفقناه لكى نحافظ على تراث المدينة ونبعثه إلى الحياة مرة أخرى. أشكر الدكتور الدماطى على منعه لهذه الكارثة من أن تحدث بأخميم والحفاظ على الموقع، وعلى جهد المصريين، ولكن يجب أيضاً أن تكون هناك وقفة لكى لا تتكرر مثل هذه الحادثة فى موقع آخر بقلم زاهي حواس ... اليوم
