Ako ima zainteresiranih, jos uvijek se moze prikljuciti Bugarskoj ekspediciji 8. rujna: Invitation for the 2013 Banski Suhodol Expedition Next year’s speleo-expedition in the area of the Banski Suhodol circus, Northern Pirin Mountain will be held between August 24 and September 08, 2013. Chief organizers of the event are the “Helictit” and “Akademik” clubs, based in Sofia. The expedition camp will be constructed at 2300 m. at an abandoned skier’s bivouac. There are leveled places for tents. The camp can be accessed by a three- to seven-hour trail from the Peshterite site above Bansko, depending on luggage. Expeditionary luggage will be transported to the bivouac with hired pack-animals. Drinking and cooking water is to be supplied from the snow-drifts above the camp!!! Caves in the region are mostly vertical, evolved in Achaean marble with a depth of around 2000 m. Due to the high altitude they are of alpine nature. Most of them hold snow and ice year-round and air temperatures rarely exceed 2oC – 3oC. Tight passages abound; at present, no constantly running water has been reached. The goals of the expedition are to continue the terrain surveys from previous years, and highest priority is assigned to widening the crawl way at the bottom of the BS No.9-11 system at elevation –265 m. The purpose and goals of the expedition are as follows: Top priority. Working in the deepest cave system in Pirin : BS No.9-11 Secondary tasks: Working in Precipice No. 13.; Sites in the high part of the region bellow Kutelo circus. Miscellaneous. Checking, mapping, numbering, GPS and photo-documenting of caves in the circus. Biospeleology and climatology of several sites in the circus.
