Akpos’ elder brother Johnny travelled to London months ago, leaving behind Akpos, their aged mother and their pet cat, Suspect. Last week Johnny called from London to know how they are doing. Johnny: Hello Akpos how are you doing? How is Mama and how is Suspect? Akpos: Suspect is Dead! Johnny(after a pause) : Akpos, bad news is not revealed in that manner. You should have started by saying something like, Suspect fell inside a well but our neighbours are trying to rescue it. Then when i call again you will tell me, Suspect broke its neck and is receiving treatment. Then when i call again, you tell me they did their best but couldnt save it. That is how to break a bad news in a mature way, okay? Akpos: Okay bros, understood! Johnny: Okay, so how is Mama? Akpos: Mama fell inside a well, but our neighbours are trying to rescue her. (Phone cuts). Johnny has been admitted into a private hospital in London after going into coma. . . (y) One word for Akpos.
