Alabama Football History: Did You Know: For the young Alabama fans.......The greatest Alabama football player in my 35 years of following the team (yeah, I started at age 5 as my cousin was a student at UA at the time and got me hooked at an early age)....Derrick Thomas. Derrick Thomas (DT) had 52 career sacks in college....including 27 sacks during his senior season in 1988. From my perspective, Amari Cooper is 2nd only to DT as the best Alabama football player in the past 35 years. vimeo/53871890.
