Alameda Station’s north Park-n-Ride lot will close on Saturday, August 17 due to construction Alameda bus loop will remain open during construction Denver – The Regional Transportation District (RTD) will be closing the north parking lot at the Alameda Station Park-n-Ride facility on Saturday, August 17. The closure will impact many Park-n-Ride users; however additional parking is available within a five-minute walk at the Broadway Marketplace shopping plaza, or the I-25/Broadway Park-n-Ride, and at the Decatur/Federal Park-n-Ride. Alternate parking available near the Alameda Station includes: • The Broadway Marketplace Park-n-Ride lot located 100 yards to the East of Alameda Station along W. Alaska Pl. (200 parking spaces) • 40 new parking spaces along W. Virginia Ave. between S. Cherokee St. and S. Bannock St. • Dirt/gravel parking along S. Cherokee St., and parking at the Station’s bus loop will remain open to riders. (about 80 parking spaces in dirt, 40 more at bus loop) Alternate stations nearby with ample parking include the I-25/Broadway Station, or the W Line’s Decatur/Federal Station, located at 1310 N. Federal Blvd., where 1,900 parking spaces are situated. The W Line serves the Auraria campus and downtown Denver with stops at Auraria West, Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Pepsi Center/Elitch Gardens, and Denver Union Station. Light rail service into Alameda Station will continue to operate normally, and bus service pick-up and drop-off at the Station’s bus loop will not experience any impacts. This closure will accommodate the construction of the BMP Metropolitan District No. 1 new underground storm water pipe underneath W. Dakota Ave. which will provide storm water relief to the surrounding neighborhoods.
