Alan Holt 3 News Meteorologist FIRST FORECAST - TUESDAY, OCT. 7 Lunar Eclipse tonight... Watch for some dense fog through 9AM along HWY 44, 77, 281, and 16. Visibility will be reduced to less than a quarter of a mile in spots. Once fog mixes out, mainly sunny skies prevail with temperatures warming into the middle and lower 90s. With the humidity in place, heat indices will top out around 100°. Winds: S/SE at 7-17 mph. Tonight, fair skies with lows in the middle 70s. Winds from the SE between 4 and 10 mph. LUNAR ECLIPSE - Will begin around 4:18AM, peaking at 5:55AM, concluding at 6:22AM (October 8). A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth passes between the sun and moon, casting its shadow onto the moon. Youll want to look to the western sky to view. As the eclipse occurs, a reddish tinge will be visible on the moon, which will also be full at 5:51AM...around the same time as peak eclipse. Moonset is at 7:31AM, October 8.
