Alan Holt 3 News Meteorologist Simplified, day-by-day forecast of upcoming winter precipitation chances: (Forecast will be tweaked as event nears. Lots of uncertainty still.) -Monday: Arctic front moves through shortly after noontime, setting the table with cold air for Tuesday. No rain/winter precipitation at this time. -Tuesday Morning: A few light rain showers develop in Corpus Christi with freezing rain/sleet north of Bee and Live Oak Counties....closer to Interstate 10. -Tuesday Afternoon: Precipitation drifts slowly southward and will likely be in the form of Rain Tuesday afternoon in Corpus Christi. Mixed wintry precipitation (sleet/rain/freezing rain) in Bee/Live Oak Counties. -Tuesday Evening: A gradual change over to sleet/freezing rain in Corpus Christi and surrounding area as temperatures drop closer to freezing. A few snowflakes will be possible, but NO ACCUMULATING SNOW. At this time, driving in Corpus Christi will become treacherous. Especially overpasses. -Wednesday Morning Pre-Dawn: Precipitation fades away and shifts east. Roads may still be slick with residual moisture from Tuesday night freezing up. -Wednesday Afternoon: Some clearing and temperatures warming into the 40s....event concludes. Forecast given at 9PM Sunday.
