Alan Watts explains how Jungian superegotists have created a faux monadic spiritualism in the west. The Jungian Self is a deceptively false Self synthesized by the Ego. Woefully confused for the ineffable Self demonstrated by Ramana Maharshi. Jungians refuse to see the hidden dualism in their belief system because of a few lines written by Jung in passing about the western minds inability to grapple with the eastern notion of Self. A notion which in and of itself seen in passing could have been viewed as harmless, but as the foundation of a dogmatic school of faux spiritualism has turned into a giant trap for the spiritually naive. Where in the spiritual marketplace of ideas if you buy one of these deceptively monadic models of Self youre sure to get fleeced.
