Alaska Law Enforcement Training session 14-02 is currently in the ninth of 15 weeks that troopers and local police officers go through to learn the various ins and outs of providing public safety in Alaska. This week they’re learning how to conduct domestic violence investigations and search and seizure procedures. These photos from weeks six and eight show recruits learning how to effectively use ASP batons as one of the many less lethal options they have when trying to take a violent or resisting suspect into custody and cold water survival skills in an indoor pool. Next week they’ll take what they’ve learned in the pool and do it in the ocean where the water is a tad bit chillier.
