Alaska Wildlife Trooper Potter uses his patrol vehicles, a Supercub airplane, a Cessna 185 airplane and a Robinson 44 helicopter, to fly over some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and visit places the rest of us pay a lot of money to see while doing wildlife enforcement as part of his job. Helo-5, the cherry red helicopter Potter uses to patrol throughout the Interior, makes a nice contrast to the fall colors of the Wood River valley 60 miles southeast of Fairbanks. Potter snapped the second photo while flying a float plane over the Nogahabara Sand Dunes in the Koyukuk National Wildlife Refuge on the western edge of Interior Alaska.
