Albay Masbate Sorsogon Tourism Alliance chosen for One-Step Project: Donsol and Daraga are first priorities USAID-DOT-DSWD National Tourism Devt Plan "One-Step Project" has chosen Almasor Tourism Alliance as its first TDA for first target in Region V. And two LGUs have been officially nominated unanimously by DOT RD Maria Ravanilla and DWSD RFU V RD Arnel Garcia, NEDA Director Atty Escandor (Luis Banua) and RDC Chairman Joey Sarte Salceda: 1. DONSOL and 2. DARAGA. The two were chosen as they offer the most potential for tourism to reduce poverty- for example, Daraga has 8,000 4Ps beneficiaries but has iconic touristic endowments. Projects have been configured to ensure that tourism will reduce poverty by creating jobs, enterprises and incomes. These include infrastructure (road to Nabasan Caves), tourism facilities (Cagsawa Ruins Park Devt, Budiao Ruins Site Development, Nstra. de Porteria - Church on a Hill), training (tourguiding, product packaging) and destination marketing promotion (participation in travel markets, both domestic and international). The One Step project constitutes a robust and comprehensive effort of the PNoy administration to ensure inclusive tourism growth. Project starts on September, 2013.
