Albeit that this is coming from a conservative website with a conservative political agenda, the facts remain the facts. On Sunday, Texas Senator Ted Cruz appeared on CBS News, Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer. While the interview package that aired, just a few days before President Obama makes his State of the Union Address, said in essence nothing, Schieffer asking the rhetorical question if Cruz was running for President (Schieffer knowing full well that Cruz has not yet made that decision), and Cruz answering with no definitive answer, but seeming to offer the standard political rhetorical response of doing his job as a senator while still in the US Senate. However, posted on YouTube today, we can see the entire interview and Cruzs full responses to Schieffers questions. Something very, very different than what was aired. Yes, news programs will edit to shorten an interview to fit in a time package, but fundamental in journalism is that while editing one never, ever changes context or answers to questions or he truth of the interview. To do so is a cardinal sin in journalism. I am both surprised and deeply disappointed in Mister Schieffer and CBS News for their changing the entire content, context and truth of the Cruz interview. Changes that clearly help President Obama try to take public attention away from the misdeeds he has and continues to commit as President. The IRS cover up, four dead Americans in Benghazi, the Fast and Furious cover up, the lies and the lying. The Obama Administration prosecuting film makers for making films that President Obama finds offensive to his political agenda is testament to the nature of this beast. What if President Bush had sought similar actions and sanctions against Michael Moore, Alec Baldwin or Sean Penn? When a thing stinks, it just stinks, and all the political perfume will not stop the stink. CBS News shamed itself.
