Album Review by Fantastic Salsa DJ Corwin Jackson, who I respect highly. Dig in & Listen. Reposting due to Privacy Settings. Good Monday Everyone! Hope the weekend was a fun, safe, and blessed one for you all. Another album review to start off the week. This one is brought to you all by the Javier Fernandez Big Band, from Puerto Rico. I first want to thank my man, DJ Walter Baez, from the NYC & Ms. Laura Canellias, from Los Angeles, CA, for recommending this album for me to listen to. Man, this album is all that is cracked up to be, and then some. I likened this album to the sounds of Machito, Tito Puente, TITO RODRIGUEZ, the Mambo Legends Orchestra, and those bands of the Mambo era with that Brass Section that can just turn any party up a notch at the drop of a hat, and make the dancers go wild on da floor. The album has 8 tracks on it that are HEAVY HITTERS INDEED, with one bolero to calm the party down a little bit (Almas Gemelas, feat. Papo Sanchez). When you have tracks that are hitting ya from every angle, a bolero is something that is needed to give rest for a minute, before hitting it hard again. Dont think for one second that this is Javier Fernandezs first rodeo folks. This pianist/ arranger has been making tunes and playing them with some of the finest artist in the industry for over 30 years, such as Bobby Valentin, El Afinque himself, Willie Rosario, & Gilberto Sta Rosa, just to name a few. This is a MAJOR DJ ALERT, and heres a song from the album, just to give you a taste of what youre in for, when listening to this band:https://youtube/watch?v=mcQozVT89b4. For the hardcore Salsero/Aficionado, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you all add this album to your collections when you can. You will not be disappointed, trust me. Have a great, safe, and blessed week everybody!! Peace Out & God Bless
