Alcoa inks long-term deal with Spirit AeroSystemsNEW YORK — Alcoa Inc. has signed a long-term agree- ment to supply aluminum sheet to Spirit AeroSystems Inc., the company said May 1.The deal, valued at about $290 million over five years, will help Pittsburgh-based Alcoa meet its increased global aerospace growth expectations, which were re- cently raised to 9 percent from 8 percent.“This new multiyear contract with Spirit deepens our collaborative relationships and enables us to continue to grow in this important market,” Mark Vrablec, president, global aerospace, transportation and industrial rolled products, said in a statement. “We are well-established in the aerospace industry and offer the best value and performance to our customers.”Alcoa will provide Wichita, Kan.-based Spirit with alu- minum sheet products for fuselage skins from its Dav- enport, Iowa, facility, which houses the world’s largest aluminum rolling mill.Nathan Laliberte nlaliberte@amm
